Surface PreparationAll dirt, grease, dust, and water-soluble salts that may impair adhesion to the substrate must be removed from the surface. Surface preparation should be carried out in accordance with the requirements for surface cleanliness and pre-paint treatment to ensure the durability and quality of the coating (in accordance with SFS-EN ISO 12944).
Thoroughly remove rust, old coatings, and other contaminants. The surface must be clean, dry, and mechanically sound. In cases of severe corrosion, abrasive blasting (e.g. sandblasting) to Sa 2½ according to ISO 8501-1 is recommended.
Surface sanding is recommended to improve adhesion.
The surface must be cleaned of dirt, grease, and salts. All weakly bonded, damaged, or peeling coating layers must be removed. Before coating, the surface must be dry, clean, and mechanically sound.
