Description
ELVI Gips Primer is a professional plaster primer concentrate designed for preparing porous and absorbent mineral surfaces before applying gypsum plaster or other gypsum-based compounds. Its acrylic dispersion and cellulose base ensure excellent adhesion, equalize the surface’s absorption, and make the substrate more resistant to moisture. The product contains no organic solvents, making Gips Primer safe, easy to use, and suitable for a wide range of interior applications.

ELVI Gips Primer stands out for its ability to penetrate deeply into the substrate and stabilize it, ensuring even drying of the plaster and a high-quality final result. It is suitable for use on cement-lime plaster, silicate and ceramic bricks, aerated concrete, FIBO blocks, and other block materials. The primer is water-vapour permeable, allowing the wall to “breathe,” which is especially important for long-term durability of the finish.
Surface preparation & application
Surface preparation:
Before applying ELVI Gips Primer, the surface must be dry, clean, and stable. Dust, dirt, oil or grease residues must be removed, and any loose or crumbling material must be eliminated. Proper surface preparation ensures that the primer absorbs evenly into the substrate and maximizes adhesion with the gypsum plaster.

Mixture preparation:
Gips Primer concentrate must be diluted with water in a 1:3 ratio before use. Apply the primer with a brush, roller, or sprayer, distributing it evenly across the surface. The optimal application temperature range is +5 °C to +25 °C. After application, allow it to dry completely — subsequent finishing work may begin no sooner than after 8 hours.

Surface priming:
Apply with a brush, roller, or sprayer.
Average consumption: 0.10–0.15 l/m² per coat.
Disposal
Hardened material and empty packaging should be disposed of as household waste.
