Before applying VELA ULTRA WOOD PRO paint, ensure that the wooden surface is dry, clean, and mechanically sound. Remove dust, dirt, grease, oil, wax, resin, and other adhesion-reducing substances, as well as mold, algae, blue stain fungus, and peeling layers of old coating. Wood moisture must not exceed 18%. New wood must first be primed with VELA WOOD PRIME UNIVERSAL PU primer. Clean and sand previously painted surfaces, and apply primer to areas where bare wood is exposed.
Thoroughly mix the paint before use. If necessary, it can be diluted with clean water up to 5%. Apply using a brush, roller, Airless or AirMix airless spraying equipment, pneumatic sprayer, or in industrial painting lines. The recommended coverage for one coat is approximately 8–12 m²/l for smooth planed wood and 6–8 m²/l for sawn wood. For complete wood protection, a system consisting of one coat of VELA WOOD PRIME UNIVERSAL PU primer and two coats of VELA ULTRA WOOD PRO paint is recommended.
During painting, the air, material, and surface temperature must be between +10 °C and +30 °C, and the relative air humidity no more than 80%. Do not apply the paint during rain or snow, on damp or frozen wood, or on a surface heated by direct sunlight. Do not paint if rain is expected before the coating forms. At a temperature of +20 °C and 65% relative air humidity, the paint dries to dust-free in 30–60 minutes, touch-dry in 1–2 hours; the next coat can be applied after 4–6 hours. Full curing of the coating takes approximately 7 days. The paint is not intended for terraces and other horizontal surfaces where water accumulates, or for surfaces constantly submerged under water.
